Me asked: I have Apache set up on a computer of mine to host a website. Inside the network, it works fine. But I cannot seem to get it available outside of the network. I have the HTTP port (80) open on both my DSL modem and wireless router and have enabled port-forwarding also (all specific to the IP address of the computer running Apache). On the computer running Apache I made sure to make an exception to allow traffic through port 80, yet still I get nothing. I think maybe I may have incorrectly set up Apache? I used dynDNS to get a free domain for my public IP. In the Apache setup, I used the following info:
Network Domain: myexamplesite.mine.nu [mine.nu is a free domain]
Servername: www.myexamplesite.mine.nu
Is this correct? What is the difference between the Network Domain and Servername? I hope someone can help me here. Thank you.
I have a static and the dynDNS account is set up for the correct public IP address.
I changed to Allow from all, at least I think I changed it in the correct spot. Did I?
# “C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/cgi-bin” should be changed to whatever your ScriptAliased
# CGI directory exists, if you have that configured.
#
AllowOverride None
Options None
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

the_damager2000 asked: I am looking to get a domain name and web hosting for the site i built. It is for my PC repair business. Its a small business so i don’t need anything extravagant or anything that will not be worth the cost. I check out go daddy for the domain and they seemed reasonable but the web hosting was pretty expensive. Any suggestions?
