How can I find out where a web site is hosted?

Is this possible?
For example, if I want to find out where www.google.com or www.wikipedia.com is hosted, can I do that? I want to find out where people are buying their webhosting services from. I’m sure a site like google have all their own servers, so maybe that’s not a good example. How about www.snopes.com?
